Baby shower games can add a lot of fun to the shower you're planning. Below is a list of many free games which you can include in your baby shower. Don't forget to buy some small items to be given out as prizes!
Price is right
This game can be played in a variety of ways. You will need to buy 10-12 baby items for both options. With the first option, you can list the prices on a small card and place it in an envelope to be sealed. Your guests will guess the prices as they do in the actual TV program. The one closest to the price wins. With the second option, you can write/type the items on a page and your guests will write the price they believe the item to cost. The person with the TOTAL closest to the actual total wins.
Word Scramble
This game is very easy to organize. All you need is a series of baby related words scrambled on a page for each person. Your guests unscramble the words to find the real words. It is best to time this game, so that it doesn't take too long. Examples include; stroller, diaper, bassinet, blanket, bottle, etc.
Mommy's Tummy
You need a roll of ribbon or yarn for this game and a pair of scissors. Your guests cut off a piece of the ribbon for the length they believe will fit around 'mommy's tummy'. Each guest takes a turn wrapping the ribbon around the mother-to-be's tummy. The closest one to the actual size wins.
Break the Balloon
This oldie but goodie always brings laughter to the room. Each guest tries to break her balloon buy sitting on it. Inside each balloon is a message that you inserted while blowing them up. One balloon will have 'winner' written on its message, while the others will have challenges. For example, sing a lullaby or recite a nursery rhyme.
Baby Pictures
You will need to notify your guests to bring a baby picture of themselves for this game. All you have to do is put the pictures on a bulletin board or magnetic board and have your guests guess who is the baby in each picture. Be sure to number the pictures so that your guests can write the number down for the person they believe it to be. If your guests are not familiar with one another, it is important they wear nametags.
What's the Nursery Rhyme?
Print a selection of nursery rhymes on a sheet of paper and white out several of the words or phrases. Photocopy the sheets and give one to each guest for them to complete the nursery rhymes. The guest who completes most of them wins.
Blind Diaper Game
Guests take turns putting a diaper on a doll while blind folded. The guest with the fastest time and best result wins. You will need a doll, diaper and a few diaper pins.
Brown Bag Game
For this game you will need a brown paper bag filled with a variety of baby items, such as pacifier, bottler or diaper. Try to include some difficult items as well. Each guest is given a piece of paper to write her selections on. The person with the most items wins.
Advice Journal for Mom
This isn't a game, but a very nice momento for the mommy-to-be. Buy a journal with a beautiful picture on the front and have all of your guests write a few words of wisdom for the guest of honor.
Don't Say 'Baby'
Each guest is given a baby item, such as a clothes pin or diaper pin and instructed not to use the word 'baby'. If you are caught saying the word, you must give your pin(s) to the person who caught you. The guest with the most pins at the end of the baby shower wins.
How Many Beans or Smarties?
This is an easy game to organize. All you need is a jar filled with jelly beans or Smarties. Count the candies as you put them in jar, attach the lid and ask your guests to guess how many candies are in the jar. You can present the prize to the winner at the end of the shower.
